Photo Tips for Egypt

1. Get there early! A general rule when you're visiting a destination with major tourist attractions is to get there early. While most tourists are waking up and eating breakfast, you're out taking epic photos with virtually no one else around. Listen, getting up early sucks... but it sucks a bit less when you have the Pyramids of Giza all to yourself!

2. Protect your gear Egypt is mostly desert, which means sand EVERYWHERE. With so many epic photo spots, you definitely don't want to risk a scratched lens. Use lens caps always and pack your camera in a safe bag when you aren't using it.

3. Beware of people wanting to "help you find the best spots" If locals see you with your camera gear, often they will approach you to show you "secret spots" where you can get a better view. I recommend you politely decline this offer because more often than not, they will expect you to tip them for this information. A much better way to find the best spots is just to do a little bit of research on your own before your arrival

4. Avoid Fridays Since this is a holy day in the Middle East, there will likely be more crowds on Fridays because people are off work. For major tourist attractions, it's better to plan to visit them on a different day because you'll have a better chance of getting good shots with less people.
